I've now added some pictures from our June 26, 2006, gig at the Ottawa International Jazz Festival.  East Side Quartet was - Garnett Picot, guitar; Paul Soble, bass; Matt Aston, drums; I brought along the alto, tenor and baritone saxes for this gig.  While it was a cloudy and windy day with gusts of winds threatening to blow our music stands over at times, we had a great time and the audience at the outdoor courtyard of the Metropolitain Restaurant, a new venue for the jazz festival, certainly enjoyed the music.  I'll try to get some pics from our 2007 festival gig posted soon.

While there are several pictures from Alternate Takes 2003 performance at the Ottawa International Jazz Festival, sadly, I have no pictures from 2004.  I've added a couple of photos from the 2005 festival.  Alternate Takes performed at the World Exchange Plaza for a noon concert on one of the hottest days of the summer.  The audience had a great time, though, while sitting in the shade of trees and umbrella-topped tables.  Alternate Takes performed again in 2006 and 2007 for our fourth and fifth years.  Although Alternate Takes is on hiatus, my trio and quartet continue to be very busy and the quartet has performed each year at the Ottawa Jazz Festival.

Beginning in 2005, the trio has been very busy.  I've included a photo from a private party that we played at the Cafe at the Museum of Civilization.  Paul [b], Derek [p] and I played on the patio on a beautiful August evening.  The patio at the Cafe presents a view across the Ottawa River to the Parliament buildings - a wonderful setting.  There also is a picture is from the 2006 New Years eve party at Eighteen.  2006 was a great year and while I have few photos from private gigs, we have played at many wedding receptions as well as private parties and functions.  The trio and quartet have been very busy since 2007 as well and I've put a couple of pictures of Acoustic Flight on gigs on that page.

I've included the picture of Mt. Rundle, just outside Banff, Alberta, just to remind me of what a great time my wife [Gail] and I had when we lived in Calgary.  I miss the mountains and the 'mountains' here in the east don't quite measure up! [even though I grew up here in the east]

I'll change these from time to time and add new photos from current gigs when available.
